Utilizes manpower and equipment efficiently in order to maximize yields, minimize overtime and ensure quality products.
Directs staff responsible for:
production, storage, and shipment of products to customer and warehouse locations.
maintenance of equipment, buildings, and property at the assigned facilities, including new construction and equipment installation. Provision of engineering and production support and advice on the design of new production facilities.
administration of the quality assurance program and analytical support for raw materials, intermediates, finished goods, and shipments.
administration of plant compliance with federal, state and local health, safety and environmental laws and regulations and corporate policies. Implementation and maintenance of effective programs for waste minimization, recycling, pollution control, environmental compliance, energy conservation and public safety.
maintenance of a clean, safe working environment for all employees.
acquisition and maintenance of a sufficient supply of raw materials.
Ensures capital equipment and facilities are available to meet future product demand.
Selects, trains, develops and motivates a supporting staff. Conducts performance appraisals and initiates salary adjustments. Develops standards and qualifications for interviewing, hiring and placement of personnel.
Develops annual operating budgets, and maintains control of approved budgets to ensure proper cost control.
Develops and maintains community and government relations programs. Represents the Freeport plant to the local community and to various social, business, trade, and other organizations that impact operations.
Supports the guiding principles of Responsible Care to continually improve Freeport plant’s safety, health and environmental performance, security, and efforts to respond to public concerns relating to design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of chemical products.
Supports and is committed to the Quality Improvement Process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work by “doing it right the first time” and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties.
Provide leadership for the successful safe day-to-day operation of the facility or facilities.
Champion and provide visible leadership in Goal Zero
Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
Coordinate the hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel.
Prepare Plant Budget & monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality. Prepares and administers annual plant budgets.
Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.
Maintain Inventory levels and control flow of product including management of Risk Inventory process.
Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives.
Analyze workforce requirements.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.
Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
Utilize TPM and Loss Analysis techniques
Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Communicate with research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.
Work with purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships.
Maintain security system and access readers.
Manage plant operating licencing and ISO registrations as appropriate.
Active in programs to promote ‘self development’ – for example
Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
المهارات
Post Graduate/Graduate in related field (Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry)
Minimum 10 years production/manufacturing chemical experience, including 5 years management experience of which at least 1 year in chemical blend plants shall be preferred
Strong organization, sense of urgency, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Must take ownership of workload and make decisions independently based on policy and customer needs.
Must have strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Word skills.
Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
