Job Description and Requirements
General Overview:
The Sales Engineer is the primary liaison with the customer, representing NOV Drill Bits segment within their defined geographic area. He/She is responsible for optimizing and realizing the maximum sustainable revenue and profitability for the account and where NOV can have the greatest impact on the customer’s success.
He/She builds professional relationships across the organization with key customer staff, including management, research and development, operations and functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monitor tool performance and report trends to product center through reporting or on a case-by-case basis as necessary.
Perform Bit Run assistance as needed.
Assist the field test bit program.
Assist in the IMS process for the assigned area.
Gathering of competitor’s tool performance data.
Assisting in the complaint report process
Assist the sales force with detailed performance studies for optimization of drilling performance for critical or strategic applications. Coordinate TerraSCOPE output.
Assist in the assembly of case histories and outstanding run reports for internal and external use
Promote the technical image of NOV in the local area through membership of industry groups, technical papers and local publications.
Provide technical applications support to sales through customer visits and presentations.
Provide local technical guidance for BitTrak and IT needs.
Assist in the coordination and optimizations of fixed cutter drill bit repair
Provide rig site sales assistance.
Experience and Education: •Engineering degree (BSc, MSc) in technical expertise, preferably in oil and gas or Mechanical •Bits, Applications Eng. and Sales •5 years minimum experience

• Deep knowledge of local markets where the account operates

• Knowledge of NOV’s offering and synergies between products and services
• Understands the oil and gas workflows and can apply solutions to problems
