Co-ordinate and Facilitate the learning from reviews carried out within the hospital.
Carryout a thematic review of the information extracted from the reviews and spread the learning in a robust manner to all departments/units
Create and maintain a database that collates the relevant information and monitor the actions identified.
Participate in the duty rota which responds to calls, emails and incidents on a daily basis as 24*7.
Provide expert advice and leadership in relation to the management, reporting, and investigation and follow up of adverse clinical, physical and other incidents.
Develop and update relevant risk management policies in line with national drivers, legislation and community objectives.
Provide regular and robust reports on themes and trends to national and international accreditation, (e.g. CBAHI & JCIA), and inspections including learning outcomes.
To provide support and advice on behalf of the Planning & Quality Management Department in collaboration with Patient Relation Section to families who have been affected by an adverse event, which may have resulted in bereavement.
Provide support and guidance to staff who have been involved in a serious incident as appropriate.
Promote the reporting of all adverse incidents through a sustained campaign, which emphasizes a proactive and reasonable culture of learning from mistakes. Including encouraging the use of hospital OVR electronic system for reporting incidents.
Ensure all information processed for patients and staff is kept confidential, accurate and in line with the APP-ITC-001 Security of Information policy.
Provide support and advice to directors, managers and clinicians dealing with serious adverse incidents.
In consultation with the Planning & Quality Management Director, initiate and coordinate the investigation and follow-up of serious adverse incidents.
Provide clinical & managerial risk management and adverse incident information for the Quality Improvement and Accreditation Section, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee and the Facility Management and Safety Committee.
Provide aggregated themed risk reports including complaints and incidents.
Develop routine monthly adverse incident reports and set up a system to respond to one off requests from the departments/units for specific information reports.
Assist the departments/units to develop action plans and work programs to reduce the recurrence of incidents.
Manage the monitoring of the risk registers and access relevant reports provide highlight report to Planning & Quality Management Director in relation to key risk areas.
Provide training on the management of department/unit owned risk registers. , which linked to the central risk register at RMPS section.
Prepare Hospital Board, committees and department/unit reports including highlighting relevant current risks that may impact negatively upon patients, relatives, the public and the organization.
Support the Quality Improvement and Accreditation section to prepare for any national and international accreditation with regard to Risk Management and improving Patient Safety.
المهارات
An effective communicator with good interpersonal relation/skills.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel of different disciplines.
Fluent in written and spoken both Arabic & English language.
Knowledge and ability to apply and to comply with the standards laid down by the approved international/national accreditation standards e.g. CBAHI, JCIA.
Computer literate.
