Senior Pipeline Engineer 8.2.16
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirectly responsible for ensuring that the Pipelines engineering deliverables of Contractors and Consultants is in compliance with Company’s requirements. Assesses and approves/recommends suitability of Pipelines engineering submissions by Contractors and Consultants.
Single point technical responsibility and accountability for all assigned projects, within Pipelines engineering area of authority.
Able to operate within broad guidelines set by established Company procedures and guided by Engineering Codes and standards.
Responsible and accountable for technical integrity and safety of designs.
Requires minimal guidance and instruction.
Work accomplishments are not subject to third party design checks.
Assess and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers to perform the work, within Pipelines engineering areas of responsibility.
Has a responsibility for ensuring Company obtains value for money and compliance with budget requirements.
Assess suitability of requested deviations from Company and international Standards and Codes of Practice.
Implementation of projects entails expenditure of hundreds of millions of QR, generating large multiples in cash of revenue to the Company.
Areas of responsibility and magnitude of projects handled have a direct effect on timely revenue generation for Company. Impact of decisions made during project design stages may not necessarily be known until after project completion in the field, and capital expenditure spent. By this time remedial actions, if necessary, may not be possible or may be prohibitively expensive.
Considering magnitude of the number and size of projects undertaken, it is essential that every action is undertaken to minimize the Company’s exposure to risk and maximize revenue generation.
المهارات
Qualification
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
SkillsProficiency in use of engineering software for the design, analysis, and installation of sub-sea pipeline systems.
Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
15 years or more of post graduate experience in oil & gas industry. Of this there should be minimum 3 years of experience in design and engineering of offshore oil and gas installations.
Experience in construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Experience with municipal utilities /water systems is also desirable, i.e., assessment studies, design, and system operation/management.
