Purpose of Role:

The Pastry Chef is well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious

creations. His skill in baking high quality treats should be matched with his ability to

manage his department in accordance with the local health & safety guideline and

operate within the budgeted costing

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintain a lean and orderly baking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

· Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, pastry, cookies, pies, bread, and all pastry items as per the brand menu.

· Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.

· Ability to work with ingredient limitation such as gluten free, sugar free, dairy free & vegan.

· Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.

· Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.

· Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.

· Manage the pastry storage

· Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.

· Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.

· Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

المهارات
Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science or relevant field.

· With Hotel Experience

· A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role

· Strong knowledge of traditional & modern baking techniques

· Great attention to detail & creativity.

· Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.

· Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.

· Experience is cake decoration, sugar art, chocolatier & show pieces.

· Ability to be flexible and work in extended periods around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

· Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
