Position Summary
Provides support, coordination, and basic analysis for research administration, specifically: proposal submission, post-award reporting, contracts review, tracking, and filing. Assists with contract and amendment requests as well as leasing with different departments and institutions to process and execute research contracts in a timely fashion.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in the process of identifying extra mural funding for the institution and guides LPIs (Lead Principal Investigators) in the application process.
Uses tools to assist with reviews of sponsor RFPs, grant proposals and progress reports.
Coordinates, tracks, communicates, and monitors deadlines to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Provides administrative support for grant/project lifecycle matters, e.g., formal acceptance notifications, project transfers, monitoring reporting requirements and assisting with the facilitation of project changes, amendments and extensions.
Drafts statistics for management reports, benchmarks, and other reports to management to support decision making.
Tracks and records changes to sponsor guidelines, internal policies and procedures.
Schedules appointments, meetings and videoconferences as required. Records and transcribes minutes of meetings.
Reviews and coordinates negotiation of contracts, including, but not limited to: grant sub-contracts, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, standard research agreements, data use agreements, as applicable and appropriate.
Assists with the process to review of all grant proposals for internal and external regulatory compliance, sponsor requirements, and appropriateness of proposed research plans. Works closely with faculty to resolve discrepancies.
Reviews all aspects of a grant proposal to ensure consistency of information presented and to ensure highest-quality proposal submissions.
Provides administrative support in collating, filing, and disseminating these programs.
Performs other administrative tasks as assigned, including providing coverage as needed.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferably life sciences, law or management) with 8-9 years of relevant experience in an administrative role.
Experience working in a higher education research-funding environment, medical college, in grant support capacity is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in drafting, negotiating, and interpreting research contracts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff; both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Ability to work proactively and independently and safeguard confidential information.
Ability to deal with demanding timeframes and exposure to a cross-cultural environment.
Well versed in written and spoken English and Arabic preferably.
