Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, User Services, the incumbent oversees Circulation, Resource Sharing, and Collection maintenance duties and assists patrons in the use of the library resources and equipment. The incumbent assists with reference services, outreach, and administrative tasks. In support of library programs, regular evening and/or weekend hours are required.
Job Responsibilities
Oversees the day-to-day operations of Circulation Services including maintaining patron records, monitoring and following-up on overdue and fine notices, and collaborating with resource management team to maintain accurate collection records.
Oversees the scheduling of library staff to provide reference and circulation services in an online or in-person setting.
Assists with course reserves and electronic course reserves.
Provides timely and user-oriented service to faculty and students, including assisting in the locating and use of resources and equipment.
Conducts inventory and shelf-reading of physical collection. Maintains collections in collaboration with librarians and manager.
Oversees the day-to-day activities relating to interlibrary loan and document delivery services, processing requests for users to provide a timely, seamless service. Performs reference verification of ILL/DD requests.
Digitizes materials as required. Provides backup support for resource sharing software.
Provides basic reference support. Provides backup support for citation verification services.
Communicates with library users at all levels, developing and fostering good relationships and keeping them informed of library matters.
Assists with program planning and execution, including scheduling of liaison special events and marketing.
Assists with the creation of training materials including FAQs, videos and library guides.
Assists with processing invoices related to areas of responsibility.
Assists with maintenance of Reading Room, including submission and follow-up on requests.
Maintains booking systems for equipment, space and services, such as library consultations.
Provides in-house training as needed. Assists with regular maintenance of policies and procedures.
Provides statistical reports and quality improvement recommendations to management.
Provides backup support for electronic timesheet and leave management.
Provides backup support for financial administration including payments.
Performs other, similar duties as assigned.
Provides cross coverage within the team as required.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Specialized Diploma in Library-related field.
3 years related experience.
Substantial experience in customer service.
Experience using Microsoft Office and other productivity software. Familiarity working in both a Windows and a Mac environment desirable.
Experience searching databases.
Experience using HR time management systems preferrable.
Experience using financial systems such as SAP preferrable.
Knowledge of AACR2/RDA, Library of Congress/MESH classification and subject headings desirable.
Familiarity with content management systems and social media tools an advantage.
Fluency in Arabic desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of filing, indexing, and cross-referencing methods.
Knowledge of Integrated Library System (ILS).
