Job Summary
The Assistant Surveyor provides a quantity surveying service across a range of projects under the guidance of Senior Surveyor to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
Job Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities
Assists in analyzing, measuring and inspecting properties and sites to establish property boundaries.
Works with Senior Surveyor in determining longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas.
Records the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Obtains and expands knowledge base on all Civil and Building related matters as relate to specific projects. Through the achievement of this all commercial and contractual matters.
Analyzing specifications, drawings, BOQ etc.
Ensures to do the necessary quantity take off.
Preparation of Bill of Quantity
2. Administration of Subcontractors and use of company procedures
Assisting the quantity surveyor by providing all the site progress details & in preparing subcontractor / supplier payment.
Ensures to prepare all required documentation for changes to the scope of the works of Subcontractors these are to be accompanied by signed off Variation Orders
Ensures to follow up with site construction team & technical team for collecting the progress details
Ensures to follow up with subcontractors’ for their interim applications and quotations
3. Record Maintenance
Ensures maintaining all the commercial logs & records for documents
4. General & Ongoing Responsibilities
Ensures that all financial / commercial and Contractual Procedures have been complied with.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of mathematics, survey computer programs, and survey computations applicable to the work
Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying
Knowledge of land surveying activities and techniques
Knowledge of engineering sketches, maps and drawings
