To participate in effective and efficient management of Marine Resources in order to carry out all Marine functions within the business. To support the Marine Manager in the Management of the company’s Vessels. To ensure Marine complies with all statutory and legislative matters, with particular attention to the ISM/ISPS codes, class requirements/trainings/Contract compliance. And in accordance with all local and international laws and regulations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe , efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
Liaising with Technical superintendent’s and vessel Masters with reference to Certification.
Liaising with the personnel department regarding aspects of Travel, crew changes and other personnel issues in conjunction with the Vessel Master. Monitor crew overlap days.
Monitor crew compliance with STCW 95 ( as amended), MLC and other training requirements.
Ensure that Vessels Planned Maintenance System (Deck dept), is being operated and reported in the manner prescribed in the Companies SMS system and is in compliance with ISM code and MLC 2006.
Ensuring that all Mandatory procedures i.e Tool box talks, Risk assessments , permits to work system s are used effectively and filed for audit purpose.
Ensure that vessels carry required publications , procedures , operational manuals, and other documents required by the flag state and other regulatory bodies, and that these are updated as required.
Ensure that IMCA guidelines and best industry practices are adhered to at all times, with regard to vessel DP operations, equipment and personnel requirements.
Ensure that the fleets DP equipment is in fully operational state of readiness at all times.
Attend Annual DP trials & FMEA Trials of existing and New Build vessels.
Actively promoting safety awareness among all Company Personnel.
Undertaking visit’s offshore to vessels on location to conduct on board training to the Officers and crew.
Visit to locations for Taking over new Build vessels or Inspections of vessels as required by the Management.
Undertake visits of Manning Agencies for Annual audits.
Assisting in internal and external audits of vessels.
Carry out internal OVID inspections of vessels in preparation for all charterers.
Monitor the performance of sub-contractors.
Budget Control and Revision and co-ordination of Budget compliance.
Assist in In-house Training on Ship Handling/DP simulator.
Assume duties of Marine Manager as required.
Take over Duties of Marine Manager as required.
Ensure operations/work processes occur in accordance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and any other standards and requirements to which compliance is required
Ensure the health and safety of all employees and the protection of the environment for all sites/work premises under their control.
المهارات
Unlimited Master Mariner’s license in compliance with STCW II/2
Minimum 1 years shore experience as Port Captain or Marine Superintendent in Offshore Company
Proficient in Microsoft systems and electronic management systems and being able to maintain a database.
Good Communication skills in English are a must.
