Resident Engineer
BWP are currently representing an international multi-disciplined consultancy who have a large portfolio of projects in the region. Due to their continued growth in Qatar they have an opening for a Resident Engineer.
Reporting to the Project Manager the Resident Engineer will be responsible for supervising the planning, coordination and implementation of the infrastructure construction projects.
Overview:
Ensure the Contractor’s compliance with the Contract Documents
Inspect all workmanship and material.
Coordination with other Contractors
Review and approve the Contractor’s shop drawings
Resident Engineer is responsible for the Contract and is not to relieve the Contractor of his responsibilities without Client’s authorization
Check and certify progress payments to the Contractor
Check personnel, equipment and material costs for all Variation Orders and Change Orders required under the terms of the Contract
Review requests for additional compensation and time extension
Prepare Change Orders for all ‘Additional’ and ‘New’ works
Preparation of the Monthly Report
Site Safety Monitoring wherein the monitoring activities, meetings, reviews, safety violations, rectification measures, and accident reports are included in the Monthly Progress Report
Inspect safety conditions and inform the Contractor of construction safety violations and follow up action to be taken
Attend all meetings, and prepare written minutes for distribution
Check and approve “as-built” drawings submitted by the Contractor and maintain a status log
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering
Must have experience with the ITS structures from a civil perspective
Roads, Highways and Infrastructure experience
Must have contractor experience
Transferable NOC (for candidates based in Qatar)
Excellent client facing skills
At least 10 years of experience in construction supervision involving bridges, roads and utilities projects
Strong experience as a resident engineer on major bridges, extensive relocation of services, road works and extensive traffic management works
Proven effective capacity to supervise engineers and construction staffs
