Traffic Engineer shall possess a minimum of 5 years of proven and directly related experience, in similar undertakings and positions, carrying Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Electronic Engineering / Computer Engineering certified by worldwide respected organizations, worked for international prominent engineering firms on key positions, with high job stability. Job description and requirements:
Relevant experience (Minimum 5 years’) in the programming and maintenance of SCATS compatible traffic signal controllers (Eclipse, ATSC 4 and Hadron) and traffic signal assets management;
To support in ensuring that there is high availability of the Ashghal Traffic Signals Assets and Systems across the network;
To support Senior Engineer with the management and co-ordination of traffic signals maintenance contracts and future ITS contracts, resources and third party support;
To support the Senior Engineer in ensuring new schemes are correctly handed-over into the Ashghal Traffic Signal Maintenance;
To support Senior Engineer in dealing with contract issues and verify that traffic signal Maintenance Contractor invoices are accurate and are backed up by the traffic signal Maintenance technician documented reports;
To support Senior Engineer for making sure the traffic signal maintenance contractors are meeting their minimum performance measures, such as response times;
To carry out feasibility studies as necessary to assess the viability of different traffic signal maintenance options and provide recommendations of best option based on cost-benefit analysis;
To carry out cost estimation of various traffic signal maintenance works;
To respond on the reactive traffic signal maintenance needs at short notice as necessary including emergency works to safeguard the safety of the public and to protect the integrity of the traffic signals;
To ensure that all proactive, reactive and planned maintenance across the network and that the maintenance contracts are compliant to their delivery requirements;
Knowledge and understanding of traffic signal design and installations;
Knowledge and understanding of different types of traffic signal inspections, occasion/timing, and requirements of each type, including defect identification, classification and coding;
Knowledge and understanding of traffic signal inspection and maintenance standards and methodologies;
Knowledge and understanding of Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS);
Knowledge and understanding of the latest ITS and Traffic Signals specification and standards;
Knowledge and understanding of traffic management requirements for traffic signal and ITS devices inspection and maintenance activities including Work Zone Traffic Management Guide (WZTMG) or equivalent;
