Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of small to medium-scale projects, engaging with stakeholders and actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks and issues which could affect the success of the project.
Plans and drives scoping and requirements definition for large complex initiatives, engaging stakeholders as required. Obtains input from a diverse range of stakeholders.
Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
Provide technical expertise in software development projects, both within software design and in interfaces with other stages of the development lifecycle. Evaluates and makes recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate.
Coordinates planning of the system and/or acceptance tests within a development or integration project.
Contributes in the planning and implementation of system(s) to support business requirements on assigned sub-functional areas from initiation to completion. This may entail:
- Contributing in the development of business requirements specifications.
- Contributing in the development of technical design specifications.
- Performing systems setup and configuration activities.
- Develop Test Scripts and Acceptance Criteria
- Conducting functional and non-functional testing.
Contributing in development of training material and its delivery.
Addresses complex and non-standard situations providing technical expertise in the development, use, or operation of software applications/systems.
Maintain high quality documentation to agreed standards and assists in documentation reviews and sign-off with relevant stakeholders.
Provides on-going support of implemented solutions, including business systems interfaces. Investigates operational issues and works with Lead Application Analyst to resolve software issues with vendor(s) of delivered functionality.
Working closely with Lead Application Analyst in applying new releases of applications software from systems development staff or software suppliers and undertakes acceptance testing, deployment and monitoring implementation as required.

Knowledge of implementation and configuration of Advanced Shipping Voyage Planning/ Management applications.
Knowledge in Application Lifecycle Management and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information systems.
Has a good understanding of the business processes which the application(s) support, and a good knowledge of the software involved.
Has sound knowledge of information systems development processes or networks or other skill areas which are relevant to the role and the applications to be supported.
Knowledge of Application Development Methods, Techniques and Standards
Knowledge of applying proof of concept or prototyping technique to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need.
Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of the testing process and the execution of tests throughout the lifecycle of development projects.
Ability to balance multiple concurrent activities and manage time efficiently
Experience in developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision and with deliverable based model, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills in English.
Has good interpersonal skills and is confident in dealing with users.
§ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or other relevant discipline
§ 8 years of experience in implementing and managing IT solutions.
§ Experience with Shipping Voyage Planning/ Management software.
§ Prior experience in ShipNet preferred.
Experience in business analysis and process design.
Experienced in using Microsoft Project, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint
Experience with leading, facilitating and documenting design workshops
