Duties and Responsibilities: As Fleet in charge, is the manager of the transportation fleet. They are responsible for selecting the right vehicles and maintaining them in good operating condition so that the company can meet its production objectives efficiently and cost-effectively. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in all situations. Fleet in Charge ensures the production runs smoothly across all stations by ensuring enough mixers and drivers are made available as per the production planning. 1.Complete and up-to-date knowledge of State transportation regulations. 2.Ability to accurately calculate load arrival times and other performance parameters. 3.Must have a working knowledge of computers with a manifest readiness to learn company specific fleet management software quickly 4.Ability to develop and maintain an accurate record-keeping system 5.Oversee assigned fleet’s operations and make direct reports to the Head of Operations/Department on fleet performance and other operational requirements 6.Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking vehicles 7.Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements. 8.Obtain and maintain annual inspections by regulatory authorities or in line with contractual obligations from counter-parties 9.Oversee proper use of fuel rations; maintain log and account for fuel and oil storage tanks 10.Maintain daily inspections 11.Opening and Maintain work orders 12.Conduct local safety meetings 13.Work closely with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee and schedule fleet maintenance and repairs 14.Make and advise recommendations to Human Resources Department, through the Head of Departments, on training, annual leave or off-days, scheduling, reprimanding, hiring, and termination of recalcitrant employees 15.Responsible for operations ground safety 16.Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to disciplinary procedures and drivers’ orientation program.
