The incumbent will contribute to the organization by taking responsibility by providing management advice and recommendation on fire & safety support services, aimed at promoting and enhancing the overall corporate protection and loss control program.
· Plan and co-ordinate the work activities of the Fire & Safety Section.
· Oversee the implementation of approved plans related to fire safety in all PHCC facilities.
· Lead in design and installation of fire safety systems and equipment in new and retrofitted PHCC buildings to ensure conformity with applicable regulations, codes, standards and bylaws; and report the findings and proposes recommendations.
· Lead in the development, implementation and delivery of response of fire safety training to PHCC staff.
· Lead in the development, implementation and delivery of response for fire alarms and emergency evacuation plan for PHCC staff and facilities
· Oversee, implement and direct Practice Fire Drills (PFDs) in accordance with state and PHCC guidelines.
· Participate in Fire and Safety audits and facility inspections to monitor and ensure that all requirements are met and thereby report findings and identify required corrective and preventive actions.
· Identify fire hazards, enforce fire safety regulations and take approved corrective actions to ensure adequate fire prevention and fire protection for PHCC facilities.
· Review all accident reports are thoroughly investigated and fully reported and then evaluate the data to formulate recommendations for remedial actions or to prevent any re-occurrences.
· Enforce Occupational Health and Safety and PHCC policies and procedures.
· Assist in the preparing and issuing safety bulletins alerts on subjects relevant to the operational area activities.
· Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by thinking what might go wrong in all undertakings and take necessary measures to prevent them from happening.
· Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, errors and/or near misses in timely manner.
· Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
· Demonstrate a sense of team work and effective communication.
· Partner with line manager to understand risks in the area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan.
· The incumbent will undertake any such appropriate duties or responsibilities as directed.
· Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard any sensitive information.
