1 - FINANCIAL Controller
A major Furnishing house in Qatar requires a Financial Controller. Reporting to the managing Director, the position shall most likely be a pro-active with the ability to work on his own initiative. Adaptability, creativity and an ability to work across various business functions are essential. The manger must be able to demonstrate proven managerial skills.
The Role
• Provide management and/or external constituencies with accurate and timely financial data and analysis regarding the company’s business and operations.
• Improving management information and increasing financial awareness throughout the company.
• Complete responsibility for driving strong financial discipline and controls to a listed company’s standards.
• Participation in cross-functional project teams with particular emphasis on margin control and cost center management.
• Ensuring best practice of financial controls.
• Responsible for all financial reporting activities including monthly and statutory accounts.
• Take ownership and implement business and accounting initiatives and disciplines to improve overall company effectiveness.
• Contribute to the broader business developments as part of the executive management team.
• Establish corporate accounting/reporting policies and ensure business units financial reports are in conformity with these guidelines.
The Candidate
• A recognized degree in accounting or other professional qualification is essential, followed by specialist training in a wide range of managerial skills.
• Strong technical competence. “Can do” attitude in order to deliver key improvements at strategic and operational levels.
• Should have at least five years’ experience in a professional and proactive finance department, including 3 years in managerial role.
• Must be thoroughly experienced in all aspects of professional financial matters.
• I.T. Literate.
• Must have a proven record of successfully managing finance department.
• Must be person of sound integrity.
• Must be self-motivated and an initiator.
• Must have first class communications skill, and able to write, read and communicate in both Arabic and English.
• Must have good leadership qualities and organizational skills and also be a competent “hand-on” operator.
• Must have a good professional stature and be able to gain the respect of his colleagues and must relate well to people of different cultures.
2- Furniture Factory Manager
The Role:
• Management Role:
Act as a guiding and driving force for the factory.
Actively lead his team in all the stages of furniture production.
Closely maintain standards in quality, and ensure that there are no slips.
Conduct daily briefing and periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure smooth running of the subsidiaries activities and discuss their suggestions as well as adopt appropriate procedures and executive plans with respect to these suggestions.
Create a time-bound production schedule and make sure that the manufacturing is timely and standardized.
Drafting a timescale for the job; drawing up a production schedule and adjusting schedules as needed.
Establish KPI that act as enablers for informed decisions.
Making production plan as per customer orders given by the project team.
Direct all factory activities to insure safety and compliance with ISO standards, regulatory compliance and contract agreements.
Prepare periodic reports with respect to the Factory activities and achievements to be submitted to the CEO.
Responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
Responsible for New Product Development and prototyping in conjunction with the Designer.
Review all reports prepared by subordinates and prepare periodic reports with respect to the Factory activities and achievements to be submitted to the group CEO.
Review production costs and product quality, modify production and inventory control programs to maintain & enhance profitable operations of the Factory.
Set, review and recommend the overall policies and procedures for the Factory and ensure that they are in line with the Company’s overall policies and procedures.
Set the estimated budget, monitor the Factory expenditures and financial performance in coordination with the Accounting Function.
Strategically plan the company’s productivity, by making optimum use of the available resources.
Train the production team members and updating the company’s production facilities to maximize the output.
Perform any extra duties assigned by the CEO.
• Marketing Orientation:
Develop and maintain a customer data base for the Company’s Factory.
Develop programs to acquire customers and increase market share in the target market.
Keep abreast with market trends and monitor competitors’ activities responsible for driving competitive conversions and share gain.
Visit potential and key clients to discuss and help close business deals as well as maintain contacts for customer feedback and response.
• Technical Role:
Maintain systems and records of job costing. Work with office staff to improve systems already in place to improve efficiency.
Support other team members with key tasks as and when needed.
Monitor the Factory performance against pre-set performance goals to ensure that progress is being made in the desirable direction and preventive/corrective actions are taken accordingly.
Technical understanding and ability to interpret working drawings of high end furniture.
Review production costs and product quality, modify production and inventory control programs to maintain & enhance profitable operations of the Factory.
Candidate Requirement
• Having optimum knowledge of furniture industry
• Must understand and have knowledge of all sections involved in furniture manufacturing
• Good References.
• Stable employment record.
• Start as soon as possible.
Qualification:
• Mechanical Engineer is highly preferable.
• Professional qualifications.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years production management experience in furniture manufacturing
• Thorough knowledge of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards.
Skills
• Professional knowledge in production planning and control in similar industries.
• Sound Knowledge in accounting principles and concepts.
• Able to relate to people of different cultures.
• Strong communication skills and good with people.
• Negotiation Skills.
• Hands on practice.
• Fluency in English, both written and oral. Knowledge of Arabic language is an advantageous.
• A University degree/diploma in Carpentry or equivalent relevant experience/knowledge in similar field.
• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in the similar field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on a leadership position in the similar industry.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
• Good Computer skills, proficient with MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
