Job Summary
The Database Administrators coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. The Database Administrator may plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
1. Management and support of all application databases and environments.
2. Provide administration and support for our development team and creating permanent database solutions.
3. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
4. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
5. Must work well in fast pasted environment with multiple IT teams to produce a high level of client satisfaction.
6. Proactively manage business critical systems in order to identify issues and potential problem areas
7. Interact with various internal IT support functions, Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations to troubleshoot and resolve problems
8. Actively identify incidents and as necessary manage the incident resolution process to provide service recovery and manage client communications and expectations in respect to incident resolution
9. Ensure compliance with departmental policies (i.e. change management, IT security standards, release management, incident management) Work with all parties to provide services to agreed SLA’s
10. Concerned with backups, security, patches, replication, etc.
11. Manage Global Database Environment
Qualifications
1. 3+ years experience managing SQL 2000/2005/2008 Servers and Oracle 9i/ 10g / 11g
2. Strong Performance Tuning
3. Experienced problem solver with planning and analytical skills.
4. Experienced in Disaster and Recovery
5. Extensive experience of managing client queries and problems
6. Strong communications skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization
7. Experience of RDBMS methodology and SQL scripting
8. Demonstrable experience of managing, owning and delivering high quality projects to objectives and within time scale
