Job purpose: To coordinate all documentation related to equipment planning required in the construction of a large hospital project and oversee project progress and working to achieve the planned work milestones.
Main tasks and responsibilities (the position exist to perform the below tasks and essential activities):
Contribute to the development and execution of the department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the division’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives.
Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the department, to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
Manage the performance management, career progression and activities of direct reports by setting annual objectives, identifying training opportunities, mentoring, coaching and providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.
Contribute with ideas that support an efficient and effective structure and resource allocation for the department, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the department’s budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.
Direct involvement with medical equipment budgeting, planning, industry recognized deliverables including timing of deliverables, construction administration, equipment validation, procurement, delivery and installation coordination of medical equipment & medical Furniture.
Obtain equipment & Furniture cost estimates and advise the total budget to the project managers.
Work with the Project team and users to determine the equipment to be ordered for each area, create technical specs sheets. and build an Equipment list for each area. This includes the type of beds, monitoring systems, equipment booms, special treatment lighting, etc.
Review the equipment list with the responsible department representative.
Review and sign off, any related shop drawing when required.
Order medical equipment for the Hospital and coordinate with the project management team to be certain that the equipment is installed correctly and in a timely fashion.
Provide input into the development and implementation of the department’s policies, systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement, to support an efficient and effective operation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE&E;and QM policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

Graduate degree Administration/Engineering or relevant field (Essential) | Certification in competent Discipline (Preferred) or a Medical related discipline
Minimum years of experience (required) 8 years minimum experience in the Healthcare industry with a comprehensive background in Medical Equipment Planning.
Strong Knowledge in the design, layout & fit-out of hospitals & medical facilities
Comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation Process in an acute Healthcare Facility with particular emphasis on JCI and preferably in more than one facility.
Basic Construction Terminology preferred
Proved Project management experience
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Possess strong organization and multitasking skills.
Strong research skills.
Advanced knowledge of planning packages such as Primavera’s P3 and MS Project.
Computer proficiency required including spreadsheets and database.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Must be detailed oriented and work well with others
