Job Title: Relief Coordinator
Location: Beirut, with continuous visits to the field
Type of appointment : Six months; effective 25TH October 2014.

Overview
The Relief Coordinator will be working on Relief activities, including but not limited to construction and rehabilitation of shelters, upgrading of sanitation facilities, and distribution of relief items at field level. The Relief Coordinator should work as needed in collaboration with various teams of the Relief supervised by UN agencies and other NGOs. The Relief Coordinator contributes to and is part of conducting surveys and assessments, collecting and processing of information, and reports. His /her work requires adequate presence in the field in order to be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that program activities are being executed according to the specified action plan. This includes daily monitoring of all activities; ensure the timely distribution of shelter and relief items to beneficiaries, field visits, follow up actions with suppliers and beneficiaries, identification and referrals of needs and potential beneficiaries.
- Assist with new program proposals and budget writing in addition to monitoring of the budget lines.
- Facilitate good community relations by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community leaders, government officials, the UN, and non-government organizations (NGOs).
- Attend relevant meetings, coordinate with NGOs and UN agencies to avoid overlap and identify programming gaps
- Conduct regular field visits to ensure effective implementation of activities
- Do assessment and analysis on refugees needs in Lebanon including medical needs, sheltering, health and forward comprehensive assessment report to HQ
- Ensure that the mission has adequate resources.
- Report writing to the supervisors on various activities as needed
Qualifications
- BS degree in Management, Development Studies or other related fields.
- Fluency in English
- Good knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Master’s degree in related field is preferred
Experience
- At least 3 years previous field experience in relief and shelter activities.
- Proved knowledge in report writing, preparing budgets, monitoring and supervision
- Minimum of one year’s previous experience in an NGO in managerial position.
