Under limited supervision, the technician position performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of the company’s products consisting of engines, machines and equipment using mechanical and electrical skills; performs related work as assigned in the workshop and in the client locations within the guidelines of the company.
Essential Functions
Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs engines and equipment.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of engines and equipment.
Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of engines and equipment.
Conducting performance tests on vehicle, machines, equipment fleets, if overseeing their operation.
Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical troubleshooting of engines and machines, and repair or replacement of faulty parts or systems.
May sometimes integrate new technology into the engine structure
Rebuild engines after passing their lifetime efficiency.
Welding and cutting material if required, using arc welding or flame cutting equipment.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Prepares and maintains records and reports on service work conducted on engines.
May act as lead person in supervisor’s absence.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Holds light/heavy driving license

In depth understanding of diesel engines, as well as mechanics and engineering in general.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills to find the source of problems / malfunctions and rectify the same.
Ability to work with hand tools, precision and other equipment.
Computer skills, as several diagnostic procedures and precision repairs may be carried out with the aid of computers.
