MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Ability to teach design and related courses in the area of interior design, with a special interest in teaching history & theory of interior design, lighting design, furniture design, or computer-aided design courses.
Active research abilities and strong scholarly activities.
Outstanding design skills with industry experience.
Advice and mentor undergraduate students.
Active participation in assigned tasks and planning of student activities.
Participate in relevant professional activities.
Serve on committees as appointed or elected.
Participate in other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.
JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES --
REQUIRED SKILLS
Preference will be given to candidates with :
Strong teaching skills and professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in computer-aided design (AutoCAD, 3Ds Max)
Teaching experience in lighting and furniture design courses.
Good record in research and/or industry experience.
At least 3 years teaching experience in higher education institutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
Effective interpersonal skills that can produce effective professor-student interactions during both one-on-one (student interaction) and in group (classroom) sessions.
Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse and multi-cultural community to maximize their academic and personal potential.
Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department as well as collaborate with faculty from other disciplines within the college.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Applicant must hold a PhD / MFA / MA degree or equivalent in interior design or a related field from an accredited institution with an excellent record of academic performance
