We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to work for a fabrication facility in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for searching for suppliers for machines, equipment, tools and industrial furniture in the fields of metalwork, woodwork, electronics and all relevant tools and hardware. A strong knowledge of Sharjah industrial area is required and in a related field and the following will be required:
• Knowledge of procurement processes, policies and procedures.
• Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Researching pricing and obtaining quotes locally and internationally
• Maintaining purchasing records and financial records
• Process and appropriate document and forms for issuing the petty cash from the cashier;
• Coordinate with requests and make sure the right materials are ordered
• Perform other duties related field as assigned by Manager
• corresponding with Overseas/local suppliers for stock availability and process the purchase
• Pursuit for new supplier in the local market with quality products
• Proper planning/managing of all material requisitions and synchronizing all deliveries with the final required dates.
• To ensure that goods are received and shipped in the most timely and efficient manner according to documented processes
• Correspond with vendors regarding prices, product availability, and delivery.
• Perform general clerical duties such as maintaining general files, typing, and data entry, opening mail, and completing and processing standard purchasing forms.
• Carry out market research and identify better prices and delivery times from all suppliers
• Responsible for delivering and moving materials from and to the facility so a driving license is required
• Handling outsourced orders to fabrication workshops

Job Qualifications and Experience
• UAE Driving license and good knowledge of Sharjah industrial areas is a must
• Experience in the fabrication industry and good knowledge of suppliers of machinery, tools and hardware for metalworking, woodworking and electronics
• Experience working with metal and wood fabrication workshops and with ability to handle outsourced orders
• Background knowledge of maintenance and engineering sector
• Should hold a relevant Bachelors Degree
• Practical experience as a procurement officer is required
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Must be detail oriented and accurate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Ms Office suite is required
• Good negotiation and networking abilities
