Job Description and Requirements
JOB PURPOSE
This position is central to the delivery of Undergraduate and Master programs within the Department of Nursing, particularly in the area of Critical Care Nursing. The individual appointed will join a team of teacher/researchers and provide teaching excellence and research acumen. The individual will be expected to be work with modern educational methods, including laboratory simulation The Department is within the College of Health Sciences and inter-professional activities in both teaching and research should be areas that the candidate can excel.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Teaching at the Baccalaureate and Master levels
Leadership in teaching at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels in theory aspects and practice of Critical Care Nursing
Curriculum development and evaluation
Student advising
Experience of using simulation
Research, contributing to the Department’s growing portfolio of grants and publications
Community engagement participation
JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES --
REQUIRED SKILLS --
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Specialty qualification (PhD degree) in Critical Care Nursing from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 5 years post-doctoral teaching experiences in Critical Care Nursing in academic settings.
Eligible for UAE professional nurse licensure.
Demonstrate current scholarly activity and a track record of research publications .
Experience in Laboratory Simulation Instruction.

Ability to work effectively with Faculty, Staff and Students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Teaching in adult critical care specialization area,
Clinical supervision
Candidate must have adequate research profile. Research competencies like obtaining externally funded grants are desirable.
Curriculum development in Critical Care,
Teaching pedagogies including on-line teaching, blended learning and simulation.
