Job Title: Audio/Visual Draftsman

SUMMARY
The Drafting Technician is responsible for the creation of systems, architectural and detail drawings, for the purpose of audio/video systems integration. Assignments are accompanied by rough project notes, sketches and a bill of materials. Work is performed under the guidance of a design engineer.
Duties and Responsiblities:
• Prepare AV signal flow diagrams
• Prepare AV equipment elevations and AV plate diagrams
• Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Research AV product information as needed for drawing preparation
• Incorporate AV construction-related details into existing architectural drawings, such as electrical requirements and mounting details.
• Keep up-to-date with latest technology and theories concerning AV systems integration
• Copying, batch plotting and distribution of drawings.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
Qualifications and Required Compentencies:
• To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. You must also:
• Be proficient in but not limited to Sketch Up, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
• Have background in electronics and architectural drafting. 3D modeling experience beneficial, but not required.
• Help maintain drawing file structure system for office.
• Have knowledge of construction trades.
• Interest in audio and video systems beneficial.
• CTS certification preferred, but not required.
• General understanding to AVL equipment is a plus
• Drawing timely completion / delivering the work before deadline
• Ability to multitask and produce desired results in a deadline driven environment
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent
• Degree from a technical college also acceptable.
• Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
• Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
• Willing to stay after hours to finish project requirement deadline
• Minimum of 2 or more years draftsman experience
• Multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize task
