Principal Accountabilities • • Contributes to developing energy and resource policy, strategy, manuals, guidelines, and code of practice. Additionally, maintain the policy and the mechanism for ensuring that the policy is communicated, understood, and used throughout the group. • • Acts as a Secretary of ENOC E&RM;Technical Committee to monitor and track Environmental Performance of ENOC BUs and Corporate Departments to recommend suitable yearly energy & resource targets. • • Conducts facility site visits, analyses current situation, and identifies areas for improvement in energy management and/or conservation. • • Develops methods of prioritising the implementation of identified energy conservation projects using financial analysis and techniques such as ROI, life cycle costing and internal rate of return. Investigates and keeps up to date utility and other rebates and incentives available for implementation. • • Assists in the development of preliminary and final project proposals. Analyses utility data and technical information, and performs site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical and control system changes to improve energy efficiency. • Uses statistical methods to arrive at energy performance metrics and evaluates the effectiveness of energy efficiency projects, and reports results. • • Develops, establishes, and assesses legislative compliance and energy aspects register for relevant group companies and updates the same as legislation changes. • Contributes to developing energy and resource management systems for group companies through detailed gap analysis and energy audits. • • Develops audit plans and conducts self-audits and energy and resource management audits to improve energy efficiency and sustain improvements. • • Reviews E&RM;business plans of the business units to ensure that they comply with sustainability objectives and government guidelines/directives. Develop mechanisms to review and verify implementation. • • Maintains awareness and keeps up to date fast changing technological and legal issues and best practices associated with energy and resource use with assistance from internal and external resources, to achieve best practice • • Develops internal benchmarks based on analysis of energy use and other data and energy efficiency standards and regularly compare them to prevailing practices in the industry and local market. • Develops energy and resource conservation campaigns to ENOC group to promote and enhance an energy and resource efficiency culture in the organization. • • Participates in energy and resource management studies and design reviews for new projects to improve efficiency, obtain faster approvals and avoid unnecessary costs. • • Plans and conducts energy and resource audits (baseline studies), assessments and GHG accounting. • • Conducts initial review for all energy and resources’ scopes of work by consultants/third parties who are engaged by any operating company within the Group to ensure that they are in line with the corporate policies/standards/guidelines, approved codes of practice and local rules and regulations. • • Promotes and represents ENOC Group of companies in appropriate forums including regulatory bodies to enhance ENOC’s image as an energy efficient responsible company. • • Conducts research and development on latest energy and resource best practices for energy and resource betterment programs Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Electrical or Energy Engineering. Master’s degree will be an added advantage. • Certified lead auditor for ISO 50001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001 preferred. If not certified, must plan to do so within 5 years. • One-year post qualification experience in the energy or process industry with some exposure to energy improvement projects. • Experience in analysing different types of energy (electricity, steam, natural gas, renewables, etc.) along with their ROI, efficiency required (could be part of academic program). • Ability to carry out establishment of energy conservation practices and procedures. • Ability to effectively interface with employees, contractors, utility company representatives and others. • Considerable knowledge of HVAC systems and controls. Basic knowledge of energy conservation techniques and practices with specific application to large buildings. • Awareness of clean development mechanism, green buildings, carbon finance, GHG accounting, energy management, life cycle assessments and carbon reduction strategies. • Analytical and research skills, including data analysis and investigative analytical skills and ability to research and present key information concisely. • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including confident written and verbal communication. • Excellent technical, organisational and presentation skills. • High level of computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Office programs, analytical software)
