Job Description:
The Nursery Manager provides senior leadership for ELC and has full responsibility for the overall
• Quality and regulatory compliance of the Centre’s activities. The candidate provides professional and courteous
• Service to children, families, visitors, prospective families, staff and the Dubai community. The Candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the Centre.
Responsibilities:
• Support the aims and ethos of the Centre, and perform duties in accordance with the mission statement and core values of ELC
• Set annual goals for guiding children’s achievement across all developmental milestones
• Provide regular and informative communications to families on all aspects of the work and life of the Centre
• Ensure all health and safety related policies are practiced.
• Work professionally and collaboratively with governmental and partner agencies responsible
• Be responsible for recruitment and retention of children
• Provide mentoring, coaching and professional development regularly
• General knowledge of UAE Federal Law No. 5 of 1983 in respect of Nursery Establishments, and the standards guidelines and policies of relevant education authorities (MOE, KHDA, FAEE and DHA)
• Follow the DHA & center’s Health & Safety practices to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Ensure all children have access to a child-centered, broad and balanced curriculum by ensuring equity of access to the whole curriculum for all children
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning, supported by the principles of internationally accepted practices in early childhood education
• Work closely with the Governance Committee to provide a clear vision for the staff, parents and children
• Ensure that all regulatory requirements are followed
• Ensure that parents and children are well informed about the school’s direction, priorities and curriculum
• Manage the process for external accreditation and evaluation with the aim to align the Centre with international standards
• Develop and monitor programmatic KPI’s and ensure the programme meets its targets
• Be responsible for the overall operations of the Early Learning Centre
• Maximize the use of the building and facilities to promote teaching and learning
• Ensure effective safety, supervision and security of the Early Learning Centre environment
• Develop and monitor agreed key performance and financial indicators
• Efficient management of all Centre resources and manage costs within the approved budget
• Oversee the appointment of staff and ensure the staff have the potential to achieve the agreed objectives
• Lead and motivate staff
• Support all staff in carrying out their responsibilities effectively
• Previous management experience (3 years minimum) in a nursery, preschool or school setting.
