Job Description and Qualifications
This is both, a staff and a contract position, based at the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project Site location, with a rotational assignment.
The post holder will lead on the project wide review and monitoring of compliance with the EH&S;requirements of the EPC contract, as well as the Elements EH&S;and environmental plans, as well as on overall compliance with the project EH&S;program. The incumbent will ensure the Project complies with all legal requirements of Saudi Arabia related to Environment, Health and Safety. This is a site based role, on the Project located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, working on 8 and 2 weeks rotation.
The candidate is expected to have good knowledge of EH&S;throughout all phases of construction and commissioning.
This is a managerial level position, and a candidate is expected to be able to perform and deliver with minimum or no supervision.
III, NATURE AND SCOPE
Description: NEOM Green Hydrogen Project consists of 3 elements: Power, GHE, and HIDC.
Project Location: Saudi Arabia, northwest near Tabuk city
IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
This position is accountable for the following:
Assess, monitor, and review performance to ensure full compliance with the EH&S;requirements of the EPC contract
In coordination with EH&S;Director, lead the preparation for audit, inspection or assessment visits from the Client, GEMTE, or corporate auditors
Develop a Project EH&S;Audit Plan
Lead regular EH&S;audits in line with the schedule framed in the Project EH&S;Audit Plan.
Develop EH&S;audit reports that inform the organisation’s Project Executive, EH&S;Director, Elements Project Directors, and other stakeholders about compliance and any trends, risks, strengths, and weaknesses in the management of compliance
Demonstrate the AP values and behaviours when carrying out work and when representing the organisation externally
Analise the audit and inspection reports, and other compliance information to identify learning and common areas for improvement
Ensure responsibility is assigned to appropriate personnel for the actioned items
Escalate as appropriate when non-compliance is identified
Establish the system for follow-up on identified and agreed actions. Coordinate with EH&S;Managers
Liaise with contractors’ EH&S;Managers and compliance leads across the Project organisation to coordinate the audit efforts and subsequent mitigation plans
Ensure high level overdue actions are addressed appropriately and displayed in the EH&S;dashboard
Work closely with Environmental Manager. Assist with development and maintenance of the Environmental Permit & Consent Matrix
Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation
Deliver training and education to AP/Contractor personnel in relation to legal, contract, GEMTE or corporate compliance
If nominated, participate in RCA’s for any incidents
Support EH&S;organization with any other EH&S;related tasks that may be assigned by EH&S;Director or his nominee

V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum a Bachelor in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering/Management, or Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical engineering
Internal/Lead auditor in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 as a minimum
NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent is a mandatory requirement
Fluent spoken and written English. Proven experience in writing technical reports in English
At least 15 years of experience in auditing of occupational health, safety and environmental systems
At least 7 years of experience as a Lead EH&S;Auditor
Excellent knowledge in developing the EH&S;Audit plans, schedules, and audit reports
Sound knowledge of international environmental regulations. Knowledge of Saudi Arabia environmental, health and safety laws and regulations is a great plus
Good knowledge of databases and possessing above average competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Familiar with all aspects of Construction and Commissioning Safety and possessing specialist knowledge in one or two areas of Construction Safety (i.e, Excavations, Scaffolding, Lifting, etc)
Possess sound knowledge on the incident classification (OSHA) and analysis
Good team player, good communicator and excellent presenter
Willingness to travel and be based in remote location, in the camp type environment
Advantages:

Possess a driving licence
