Job Description
To provide turbomachinery services and to support business growth globally. The primary role is to manage and execute DGS Retrofits of related Turbo Equipment around the world within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated. From time to time the retrofit may be related to other types of gas emissions. Other essential services include site surveys/audits, field work, technical advice rotodynamic analysis, design of compressor parts and/or their modifications and report writing.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prospect and conduct feasibility studies on retrofit and upgrade opportunities, including pursuing the necessary follow-up activities. Prepare commercial and technical proposal for potential customers.
Support and proof-read technical reports before issuing to customers
Support John Crane Methane Initiative by auditing Customer sites, providing technical recommendation on curbing emissions of existing oil seal equipped compressors, assist in installation of emission reducing equipment.
Manage and execute dry gas seal retrofit projects within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated.
Prepare a RDA report and present it to the Customer.
Conduct sales and technical presentation (including on-site training) on Turbomachinery related products and to support existing business and identify new opportunities.
Liaise with engineering/purchasing departments and contractors on machining, fabrication, and assembly works.
Provide customers with technical support and solutions, including field service, commissioning, and troubleshooting as may be required from time to time.
Create and manage detailed technical and commercial proposals and justifications for important (turnkey) projects
Support John Crane Coupling Sales and Marketing by providing technical expertise on the subject.
Identify areas of opportunities via field visits, site surveys and other general technical customer involvement. Opportunities may include failure investigations, upgrades, etc.
Maintain and build a good rapport with the customers during visits and provide after-sales service support & training, on-time delivery performance and any further follow-up actions required.
Ensuring that projects are executed on time and to quality standards (HSE) and customer expectation.
Liaise closely with John Crane’s turbo product manufacturing centres globally on issues concerning any of the turbo product range.
Assist Global Turbomachinery Group on special assignments as and when required

Traveling on a global basis will be required.

The Individual
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years’ of work experience of rotating equipment.
Experience of turbomachinery and some knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry.
Self-motivated to achieve results with minimal direct supervision with the ability to work alone or as part of the larger team.
Strong analytical & reporting skills as will be required to generate reports and analyze data.
Confident and able to deal with very challenging situations in a calm and credible manner.
Knowledge of gas seals
Strong technical knowledge of turbo products
Team player and willingness to travel up to a maximum 25-30% of time if needed.
Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office suite and RDA software.
