The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a team of Building & Structure Maintenance Technicians to provide effective engineering and maintenance service covering the building structures of stations, depots, system ancillary buildings, sub-stations, cutting embankments and walls, tunnels, car parks, signage and related ground level infrastructure for Dubai Metro.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and give guidance to a team of Building & Structure Maintenance Technicians and subcontractors to carry out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications in building structures of stations, depots, system ancillary buildings, sub-stations, cutting embankments and walls, tunnels, car parks, signage and related ground level infrastructure.
Supervise and oversee the Building & Structure Maintenance Technicians out in field carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on buildings / structures including stitching, grouting, scaffolding, pressure pointing, re-casing and general structural repairs and finishes.
Follow the appropriate procedures and work instructions of maintenance to ensure compliance with the requirements.
Assist subordinates with the job familiarisation and to provide training and assessment where required.
Produce and maintain accurate records of building structure maintenance works accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
Assist the Building & Structure Maintenance Engineer or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.
Ensure the maintenance tools and equipment’s are in good condition.
Conduct performance review for Building & Structure Maintenance Technicians.
Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Building & Structure Maintenance Engineer.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Working knowledge of the strength of reinforced concrete, structural masonry and structural steel inspections, foundation testing, and corrosion studies.
KEY SKILLS
Ability to compile simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Experience in operating mobile boom, scaffolding and etc.
Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Holder of a valid UAE driving license with a good driving skill and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Must have minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in the maintenance of buildings and structures activities, such as building maintenance works implementation and review.
Must have 1 year of supervisory experience in supervising a team of Building & Structure Maintenance technicians to carry out the maintenance activities.
Should have thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various electronic test equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFCATION
Mush hold vocational trade certificate, diploma or degree in Civil Engineering discipline.
