Responsibilities
Maintaining high level of time keeping is of the essence.
To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills
Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment and the Hotel’s adherence to it.
Ensure that all associates comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
Conduct development and performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with legislated workplace health and safety requirements.
Comply with all MOHG and Hotel Specific Standards and Procedures.
To abide by all rules, regulations, policies, LQE, MOQA and Safe, Sound & Sustainable by Mandarin Oriental standards.
Attend meetings and trainings as requested
Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Supervise and control the Maintenance Request
Maintain and update kitchen equipment inventory.
Complete all FLHSSE requirement on Kitchen equipment such as Pat Test/Refrigerant Management, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on all Kitchen equipment according to PPM plan.
Respond to breakdown of equipment and being available in case of Emergency and taking appropriate actions as the Hotel policy and procedures.
Responsible to monitor Temptrak System.
To ensure all internal and external audit follow-up pertaining to Kitchen equipment are complete on time.
Able to prioritise the maintenance issues e.g.: to attend the breakdown of the plant and machine on priority Responds promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise either by the guest or other departments.
Respond courteously to internal guest requests promptly and resolve matters to the guest`s satisfaction.
Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
Attend all firefighting classes and to obtain a thorough knowledge of firefighting appliances.
Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and water systems.
Check for new maintenance request e.g.: OOO – Out of Service and OOO – Out of Order from the HOT SOS system and update remarks once the task is completed.
Communicate with different departments and to provide them with information and assistance.
Able to use your wits and technical abilities to solve problems and make repairs effectively and efficiently.
Inform Asst. Manager of recurring complaints so the root cause can be identified.
Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good conditions.
Maintain the engineering working area and control desk in a good condition always.
Raise requisition of parts and supplies as needed.
Responsible for ensuring resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs.
Problem solving and trouble shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand
Carry out daily inspections of plant and equipment. Record all equipment operating parameters in a log sheet daily.
Carry out general room inspection, preventative maintenance inspections and repairs including scheduling of all these works.
Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years in engineering studies such as Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC or Building Services.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience at a Supervisory level or similar
International experience: Middle East experience is an advantage
Hotel Pre-opening experience or renovation experience is an advantage
Experience with Building Automation Systems (i.e. Inn Comm, BMS, etc.) is an advantage
Strong people management skills
Strong knowledge of “Safe & Sound”
Fluent in English, spoken and written language
Ability to understand guest needs and expectations and to deliver superior customer service with little input from others
Mature and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills
