Key Responsibilities
Prepare and produce timely weekly, fortnightly and monthly reports for Head Office
Complete end of month reports for COO in a timely and efficient manner.
Produce departmental reports for department Directors as required.
Prepare and produce ad hoc reports as and when required by COO and owners.
Actively participate in Executive, management and other meetings as required.
Manage all company internal and external audits.
Manage the payroll process and ensure salaries are processed on time.
Manage and implement a purchasing and inventory system.
Communicate effectively and openly with all stakeholders.
Prepare annual budgets and budget updates as per deadlines.
Assist department Directors with preparation of their annual budgets.
Oversee the cash collection procedures.
Monitor cash flow.
Manage all forecasts, cash flows, fixed asset reporting and insurance policies.
Oversee and manage all VAT related issues.
Preparation of all statutory reporting requirements.
Monitor and mentor all Finance personnel.
Monitor workload and assign tasks to all finance personnel.
Provide feedback to all finance personnel.
Conduct regular communication meetings with Finance team.
Identify training needs required in Finance department
Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews on time and in a professional manner.
Provide guidance and financial insight regarding budget preparation and assist in ensuring that the budgets are aligned with the budget plan.
Support in strategic advisory on cost controlling tactics and recommendations for each business unit.
Notify and report to senior management concerning any trends that are critical to the organization’s financial performance
Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
Providing strategic recommendations to the C suite and members of the executive management team
Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
Advising on long-term business and financial planning
Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
The Candidate
A qualified accountant with relevant post qualifying experience
Strong technical experience in public company accounting
Previous knowledge of working within the events/sponsorship sector would be beneficial
Good communication and managerial skills
Ideally, big accounting firm experience
Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality and output.
