Associate Director – International Participants

The Associate Director IP is allocated a group of countries and will take them through the process of participation, from signing them up to completing both BIE and Expo 2020 Dubai obligations and operational steps.  The Associate Director IP will be involved in country participation at Expo from the time of their confirmation to the time of their decommissioning, following the closure of Expo 2020 Dubai. Additionally, Associate Director IP will manage relations with key stakeholders that influence countries and support Expo and delivering the international participants.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

- Serving as a focal point for Expo2020 to key external stakeholders that have direct impact on international participants, primarily the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Economy, DCCI, and other relevant authorities;

- Advise Senior Management on all external stakeholder activities;

- Identifying opportunities for cooperation with external stakeholders to promote Expo2020 and its programmes on a national, regional and global level;

- Assuming Expo Liaison related functions, which include consolidating relevant feedback from Liaisons and presenting them to Senior Management;

- Utilizing the liaison role to strengthen relations and harmonize all correspondences between the International Participants team and other Expo teams.

10+ years of experience working in a similar position as well as:

- A Bachelor’s Degree within a relevant field;

- Strong communication skills in the language of preference to the country as well as in English, both written and oral;

- Strong project management skills;

- Strength and interest in an operational role;

- Knowledge of international affairs;

- Maintain a pro-active relationship with all stakeholders, internal and external;

- Cultural awareness and sensitivity and a strong commitment to teamwork and following senior management guidance;

- Time management, planning skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines.
