Deputy Manager - Scheduling & Delivery

The purpose of ‘Scheduling & Delivery Deputy Manager’ is to support the Scheduling & Delivery Manager and the Distribution team with scheduling, routing, communication, and to provide an interface for all Distribution workstream related activities for integrated with internal and external stakeholder.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

- Support the Logistics Distribution workstream in operating seamlessly with contracts, employee development and training, systems development, communication tools and general project management methodologies;

- Support the other Logistics workstreams (i.e. Customs & Freight Forwarding, Material Management, Warehousing, Distribution, Venue Logistics, and Programme Management) with their requirements for an efficient and economical end-to-end Logistics operation;

- Support in the development of short-term goals and objectives for the Logistics Distribution workstream and agree this Scheduling & Delivery Manager and Distribution work stream;

- Lead on the continual improvement of Expo 2020 Logistics Distribution processes, policies and procedures;

- Assist in the management and in the process of design, implementation and supervision of the master schedule for deliveries and collections across the Expo 2020 Site;

- Assist with the contract management of the 3PL regarding vehicles, drivers and maintenance;

- Responsible for weekly and daily design of routes, synchronized delivery timetables, capacity needs and special handling instructions;

- Ensure that Delivery Management System (DMS) bookings are aligned with the Logistics’ Function’s operational needs;

- Examine exception reports, failures and delays, with reports and implementation of improved processes for planning and scheduling;

- Support invoice and shipment tracking and reconciliation.

المهارات
4+ years’ experience in management of distribution operations;

- A bachelors degree within a relevant field;

- Extensive relevant operations experience in a high volume, time critical operation managing scheduling, and supporting pick-ups, deliveries, and general distribution;

- Experience managing distribution from multiple warehouses for a single project;

- Demonstrable excellent MS Excel and Powerpoint skills;

- Experience in resource rostering and scheduling;

- Experience in major, international events;

- Experience of working with or for third party logistics contractors;

- Cross-functional management experience.
