Job Purpose:
Under guidance of the Shift Manager, in charge of monitoring and supervision of all container terminal operational activities ensuring field subordinates perform their jobs efficiently, safely and in a timely manner, maintaining communication chain with control room and field operational stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
If observed in real time any incident, or get any incident information from other parties, ensure prompt involvement by addressing to concerned parties (management and HSE) and taking necessary actions;
Prepare and share to designed audience an incident report whenever required;
Involve, coordinate and follow up in any special handling in land side and/or special yard taking necessary actions (i.e container leaking, container positioning, seal/imo labels, door direction etc);
Regular preparation and revision of land side/gate devices & components check list, and share with management for proper follow up;
Keep continuous monitoring of special yard operations (OOG and BBK area, empty containers, reefer washing area, ensuring equipment`s (i.e RS, ECH and TTs) are following safety practices;
Ensure special/empty yard equipment`s deployment fits operational requests/needs and raise/address to control room any issue, abnormality or change recommendation;
Arrange and lead inventory activity once required;
Attend to any matters escalated to your attention from operational areas and report to line manager when necessary especially issues of complexity or great impact on the operation;
Performs other functions as assigned.

Requirements:
Education:
Matriculation from year 12 in home country
Preferably post-secondary vocational studies such as a diploma in Logistics or related business field.
Experience:
5 years Port operating experience in a Container Terminal as either a worker or junior leader.
Knowledge/Skills:
Physically fit with no fear of heights.
Has understanding of basic tabulating methods, and general math aptitude.
Require a medium level of planning and organizational skills, has good leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills, working with a highly diverse workforce.
Has an understanding of:
different types of vessels and their characteristics.
different types of cranes, equipment, heavy vehicles and their characteristics.
different types of containers and cargo and their characteristics.
different types of hoisting equipment and their characteristics.
different types of lashing and their characteristics
Understands safety regulations, safe working procedures and safe materials handling procedures and follows safety and work instructions.
Has the ability to communicate operational instructions and information & is able to understand commonly used hand signals to communicate without radio system.
Has the ability to work as a team member and adhere to operational plans to achieve maximum productivity.
Has a familiarity with the strict implementation of international standards of safe working practices within marine, stevedoring and terminal operations.
General knowledge on Government Agencies (especially Customs) imports and exports procedures.
