Job Description and Requirements The Assistant Resident Engineer will be required to: •Lead and supervise a team of multi engineering disciplines staff and contractor within contract period •Implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution study •Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites •Effectively evaluate technical proposals and its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical site problems that may arise during construction. •Evaluate and monitor the progress of the Works in accordance with the submitted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) along with the Cost Breakdown Structure and Resources Breakdown Structure. •Oversee all environmental protection aspects of the construction and operation of similar size sewerage projects. •Ensure Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control. •Review and justify the material submissions, analyse laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s specifications. •Prepare QA/QC plans and have the ability to lead and motivate a project QC team, write clear, brief and accurate technical reports. •Prepare construction project monthly valuation. •Prepare Site Instructions and Variation Orders. •Assess and evaluate Contractor’s Claims Title: Assistant Resident Engineer (drainage connections) Qualifications: Qualifications •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University to the approval of the Engineer. A recognised Professional Qualification would be a distinct advantage. Experience • Minimum 18 years demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision and management of multi-disciplinary Civil Engineering construction projects including two (02) similar size Pumping Station projects. • Must have experience in supervision of civil construction projects with works related to substructure, water retaining structures preferably pumping stations, reinforced concrete structure, buildings etc. • Must have hands-on experience in supervising construction and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment related to pumping station of similar size and nature. •Must demonstrate experience in respect of the technical proposals evaluation and its constructability, solving the technical site problems that may arise during construction. • Should be able to evaluate and monitor the progress of the Works in accordance with the submitted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). • Experience in Quality Assurance Specifications. Must be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyse laboratory and technical reports, ensuring the compliance with the project’s specifications. General • Ability to lead and supervise a team of multi engineering disciplines staff and contractor within contract period and meeting PWA quality objectives. • Must be able to demonstrate skills to implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution study • Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites is essential.
