Strategy, Leadership & Planning
Supports Majid Al Futtaim’s business expansion and growth, mission and objectives efficiently through high standards of service, customer satisfaction, stakeholder expectation and cost-effective management of resources, maximizing revenue, profitability, and growth of the businesses.
Ensures the implementation of policies and standards covering all functions of the construction function so that all relevant procedural / legislative and DOA requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to internal and external customers.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, industry representatives, municipality and government offices.
Conducts a risk analysis of developments and ensure identified risks are minimized and balanced with strategic imperatives.
Oversees the management of day-to-day operations to ensure the timely execution of assigned projects in the LEC portfolio of construction projects, including major renovations of existing LEC sites.
Participates extensively in helping to define projects and develop budgets that will achieve profitability objectives taking into account project-specific challenges.
Provides/acquires conceptual and pre‐construction estimating for new projects and manages expenditures within limitations of project budgets.
Ensures development of site plans that deliver the best-in-class product consistent with market demands while also achieving the investment assumptions approved by the underwriting process.
Understands and implements site quality control and adherence to plans and specifications to effectively deliver ground up new construction and core and shell construction projects.
Notifies function heads of activities, results and developments that could have an impact on objectives and operational deliverables.
Participates and directs consultants through schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction and post- opening deficiency phase.
Inspects projects to ensure all work performed is to contract design specifications and in accordance with our safety standards.
Serves as a primary communication conduit for priorities, provides guidance, evaluates performance, clarifies issues, identifies solutions, and communicates goals with Construction and Development team
Assists in the selection of all consultants, including definition of scope of services and fee negotiations.
Reviews consultants’ responsibilities, sources of direction, budget control, reporting functions, etc.
Reviews and provides insight on all drawings, specifications, budgets, operating pro-forms submitted by various consultants within the time constraints of the design program.
Co-ordinates all documents to ensure inclusion of LEC concept designs and standards and operating criteria.
Carries out final inspection of concepts to ensure readiness of handover and identifies and rectifies any deficiencies.

Minimum experience
A minimum of 15+ years of experience leading construction and/or leading the budgeting of CAPEX projects (including the management of significant budgets)
Construction management background in a fast-paced startup or retail, F&B;or leisure sector.
Experience with organizational transformation, including the development and implementation of effective operating models in large-scale, complex organizations
Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor’s degree required in Construction, Civil Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred
