Job Title : Foreman ? WeldingReports to: Supervisor / Sr. Foreman ? Welding

1. JOB OBJECTIVES (SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE)
Lead, direct and administer skilled workers engaged in welding activities onboard and workshop.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies, Processes & Procedures:
?Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
?Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
Day- to-day operations:
?Ensure all necessary plant and welding equipment are maintained in a current operable and calibrated condition.
?Ensure consumable control requirements are closely followed and workers are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
?Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
?Ensure WPS for particular work scopes are displayed and the welders are aware of the requirements and comply with same.
?Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
?Liaise with other discipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
?Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities.
?Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
?Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards.
?Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns.
?Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work

?Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

?Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

?Good knowledge of English languages.
?Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
?Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.

?Knowledge and Experience in ship repair and new building yard.
?Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
?Thorough knowledge in various types steel works, steel structures and welding procedure specifications.

?10 to 15 staff will be under his supervision and direct control.
5. CHALLENGES (MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE ROLE ? NOT MORE THAN 5) ? TO BE VALIDATED
?Controlling and managing employees under tough working conditions. i.e.. extreme heat, humidity and wet conditions.
?To complete given jobs on time with highest quality and safety standards with no incident or accident.

7. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EssentialDesirable
Education?Diploma in engineering or equivalent?Graduate in engineering or equivalent.
Training ?2 years trade apprentice course.?Off shore / Oil & Gas
Experience?Familiarity with welding works with at least 3 years of experience as Foreman or Lead position. ? 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas or ship building industry.
8. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Working conditions:
?Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat and noise while exposed to high, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals.
