Job Purpose Manage and oversee projects, through providing a focus on Building / construction engineering, by monitoring cost, schedule, quality and ensuring compliance to regulations whilst making revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Key Accountabilities
Ensure all building/construction project engineering activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s process and procedure requirements and in compliance with relevant authority legislation and any other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
Assist in analyzing, reviewing and evaluating the technical and financial proposals submitted by the consultancy firms with regard to building construction and provide expert technical advice on all aspects of building and construction engineering to other departments to facilitate effective decision making
Direct and control the building projects to ensure its design and construction are carried out as per the required regulatory, statutory, organizational, safety and quality standards set and are completed within approved budgets and timelines
Develop and implement quality control programs
Evaluate contractors performance
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
Provides project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Create required presentations
Proactively manage project risks, issues, gaps, reporting and resource conflicts
Provide input to budget management processes so that expenditure can be tracked and accurate projections can be maintained
Manage all assigned projects efficiently through meticulous project planning and analysis
Review all contractual documents related to building / construction consultancy terms and conditions to secure/detect any loop holes in contractual terms which would be detrimental for the achievement of the project &/or organizational goals and objectives
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Coordinate activities in the project scope, as per schedule, within budget and up to the quality standards by managing performance of consultants and contractors
Analyze schematics and determine if the project requirements are being met to ensure functionality of the facility being constructed
Manage, supervise and monitor the Consultant and the Contractor working in the construction contract of the project
Monitor and control all site activities to ensure the satisfactory completion of the project and report to the management on a regular basis on project progress vis-à-vis project milestones, budgets and timelines
Conduct regular site visits during construction to ensure that all planned schematics are materialized accordingly
