Job Discription
· The Occupational Health Service Nurse is responsible for the on-site delivery of the company’s Occupational Health Programs.
· Shall deliver primary health services to the staff, ensuring good health, proper hygiene and sanitation in both work areas and accommodation facilities.
· Shall conduct health risk assessments, as may be assigned.
Responsibility:
· Daily and periodic standards compliance monitoring in all departments, services within the units, and ensuring that the agreed corrective, preventative actions are implemented
· Management of medical supplies
· Control of company expenses
· Control of motor vehicle costs(fuel)
· Control of mobile phone costs(usage)
· Inspection of company-provided accommodation and health information dissemination activities, to ensure that health hazards are identified, communicated to all concerned and addressed accordingly.
· Responsible for coordinating proper medical care and/ or evacuation for injured or sick employees requiring higher levels of (or hospital-based) clinical intervention. The nurse shall ensure employees’ adherence to follow-up treatments, full compliance to medications and adequate rehabilitative actions.
· The Occupational Health Nurse will also be required to act as a counselor, to provide psychological evaluation and advice for employees exhibiting clinical levels of stress and emotional difficulties.
· Some travel/investigation of site issues and/or working at specific sites to support the reduction of risk may be required, as well as to verify that HSE operational standards are being maintained.
· The role will from time to time involve project work and the nurse may at times be expected to take the functional lead for health in this regard.

MAIN DUTIES
To conduct OHS/HSE monitoring, and report any exceptions in terms of non-compliance, conformance to:
o Unit Manager
o OHS Manager
o Sector General Managers
o HSE Director
· Render competent, nurse-based clinical services to company employees;
· Ensure prompt medical attention for emergency cases;
· Early detection and disposition of occupational health issues;
· Full implementation of preventive health programs;
· Inspection of staff accommodation facilities;
· Provide psychological counseling for employees who are exhibiting clinical levels of stress;
· Maintain accurate records and reports of all occupational injuries & illnesses
· Liaise with local health providers for med-evacuation and other requirements;
· Provide professional advice on occupational health and sanitation issues;
· Participate in company activities to improve employees’ morale and welfare;
· Conduct unit-level staff briefing on certain health issues/concerns as may be requested by the unit.
· Update the OHS Manager on any proximate health issues or impending occupational health & safety issues.
· Encourage by example the ME HSE vision and values
· Support the sustainable implementation of company HSE initiatives
/ programs such as “Safety First” (HSE) HACCP (Food Quality and Safety) IMS (Integrated Management System)
