1. Providing comprehensive extensive support to the BOD that includes handling the group’s hotel portfolio’s financial and commercial matters in depth.
2. Oversight of the hotel’s finance managers to comment on their effectiveness to board
3. Analyzes, researches, compiles, assimilate and share findings with the BOD & GM Operations, where relevant, taking into consideration all the financial information and data as well as other elements that could impact the results and the profitability of individual hotel departments or the hotel as a whole. This would include detailed review of the monthly management accounts received from each hotel property.
4. Analyzes the annual budget of each of our hotels (probably spread over the year) in a systematic manner highlighting areas where cost could be better managed, reduced and optimized. Draw attention to revenue streams and incremental potentials for our hotels by comparing trends and data collected from similar operations in the city of other hotels as well as industry trends worldwide.
5. Prepares reports and submit them with the documentation to support his analysis.
6. Identify the best zero base cost management formula for our hotels and implement it throughout our hotels for full optimization.
7. Ensure system of competitive pricing of purchases at our hotels is effective. Implement cross sharing of purchase and other contracts to benefit each property.
8. Monitor market trends on costs through reports and analysis received.
9. Standardize the MIS of our hotels by design/off the shelf system driven IT reports. Follow international best accepted practices in such designs and ensure (a) information ,and not means to information, is provided (b) concise data in a decision making format is provided without any over/under load of information.
10. Review and supervise the controls over fixed assets at our hotels and ensure their physical custody and book records including depreciation are accurate.
11. Coordinate the financial figures, quotes and Fixed asset purchases and set out systems to govern those.
12. Review the internal auditors scope of works at our hotels and recommend improvements to ensure Owner’s interest protected. Review the periodical reports of internal auditor related to our hotels and respond and ensure corrective action in due course.
13. Performs a variety of confidential supporting tasks assigned to him by Board.
14. Works closely with the Hotels team, other group entities, finance and IT teams of the operators including their regional office.
15. Prepare a check list of all Owner related control issues arising from our management agreements and ensure compliance to them.
16. Coordinate the work of external auditors and ensure conformity to management agreements and IFRS’s.
17. Perform other job related duties as assigned
