Our client are one of the world’s leading professional services companies operating in the global markets of Water, Energy and Resources, Environment, Property and Buildings, and Transportation. They are looking for a Technical Director - Transport & Infrastructure to join their team in the Dubai office.Reporting directly into the Transport & Infrastructure Group Manager you will be responsible for:
Developing strong client relationships adding value for their clients and enhancing existing client relationships
Manage Transport and related Infrastructure projects both new and upgrades
Manage and overview design work, with progressively increasing contribution to the project
Interface with and manage project stakeholders both internal and external, to establish and agree project baselines, manage changes and resolve issues
Provide technical expertise; develop project team members, graduates and other professionals
Contribute to bids, proposals and peer reviews
Support an innovative and problem solving approach to consultancy, adding value for their clients and developing strong client relationships
Support wider business development initiatives and raise the profile of client through high standards of project delivery, thought leadership and client networking
Collaborate and build relationships with other client offices and teams
Core Competencies
Experience of managing Infrastructure projects and teams in the Transport sector
Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills that can lead and manage teams on a project basis so that the solutions delivered to clients are innovative, sustainable and appropriate development planning
Experience in other aspects of transport planning, such as accessibility studies, light rail schemes, highway modelling, interchange studies, parking studies, freight studies, airport studies, traffic engineering and development planning
Commercially aware, with the ability to build excellent client relationships
Pro-active and self-motivated, with the desire to make a valuable contribution
Middle East experience and a working knowledge of design, international standards and construction practices specific to this region, will be considered favourably
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science (Civil Engineering)
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Transportation related projects with a minimum of 5 years’ in a Consultancy background
Member of relevant professional body or association will be an advantage
Strong knowledge of public and private sector
Familiarity with transport industry tools and datasets such as MOIRA, RailSys (or other performance modelling and planning software), LENNON, NRPS, NTS, GIS, LinSig, Transyt, Junctions9, VISSIM, Sidra, EMME modelling packages TRICS)
