The purpose of ‘Assistant Manager, Distribution’ is to support the Distribution Manager and the Distribution team with scheduling, routing, the logistics distribution systems operational across the Event, and provide an interface for all Distribution workstream related activities for integrated with internal and external stakeholder.
The main responsibilities included in this role will include:
- Work directly with Expo 2020 Functions to identify their scope for distribution services and load-in/load-out activity at all venues.
- Assist with development of distribution master schedule and demand model;
- Assist with the development of a fleet of vehicles necessary to distribute materials and assets including high value items;
- Develop fleet management systems and procedures, including policies on driver recruitment, training, deployment and welfare;
- Support in the reporting and monitoring of detailed shipping and ground transportation schedules for purchased goods from suppliers to point of delivery;
- Support in the development of Delivery Route Guides for the site and satellite venues including boarders, ports, airports, and warehouses;
- Establish working relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with Dubai and Emirati traffic regulations and laws;
- In collaboration with the Logistics Coordination Centre, Warehousing Operations, and Venue Logistics, assist in coordinating and receiving of deliveries/collection to and from the Expo 2020 warehouses.
المهارات
4+ years’ experience in management of logistics and warehousing operations as well as:
- A Bachelors Degree or higher;
- Demonstrable excellent MS Excel skills.
- Experience in resource rostering and scheduling;
- Experience in major events;
- Experience of working with or for third party logistics contractors.
