The purpose of the role Senior Manager Commercial Legal is to form an instrumental part of the CL team with management of 2-3 of the Legal Areas besides the Sponsorship and Patronage programs. This includes drafting, negotiating and managing the agreements and related documentation for the Legal Areas of responsibility. Reporting directly to Director Commercial Legal, and from time to time directly to VP Legal as requested.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Contribute to defining and delivering on CL strategic direction for managed Legal Areas and work within systems, policies and procedures to achieve these goals;
- Act as the point of contact for 2-3 of the Legal Areas and key account manage such Legal Areas for which Senior Manager is responsible;
- Negotiate, draft and service contracts for managed Legal Areas to protect Expo 2020 commercial interests and reputation;
- Safeguard the interests and reputation of Expo 2020 at all times in interactions with external stakeholders for managed Legal Areas;
- Negotiate and draft contracts and documentation in managed Legal Areas with both internal and external stakeholders as required to meet the needs of Expo 2020 and for which CL is responsible, to be approved the VP Legal;
- Identify and evaluate potential issues and risk factors regarding contractual positions, advise on relative and relevant risk positions and offer advice thereon to Commercial Department to ensure and enhance mitigating alternatives, all for managed Legal Areas for which Senior Manager is responsible;
- Research complex legal issues, precedent, structures and language for contracts in managed Legal Areas;
- Act, interact and communicate by correspondence and telecommunication with external stakeholders on behalf of Expo 2020 in a legal capacity on managed Legal Area issues;
- Organize and manage the documents and work flow in managed Legal Areas such that work is completed correctly and in a timely manner and approved in line with the relevant DOA.
المهارات
- 8+ years relevant experience;
- A Bachelor’s degree, Educational Level - Law;
- Proven and successful experience as a legal counsel in a business environment;
- Excellent communication and writing skills in business and legal English;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously;
- Demonstrated attention to detail and quality of work and experience in a large company or law firm;
- Strong planning, organization skills and knowledge of/familiarity with relevant Legal Areas;
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and a strong analytical ability;
- Professional attitude and stature.
