Our Client, a renowned Contractos is now recruiting for a HSE Director who will be directly reporting to the CEO
Role Purpose:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the HSE Management processes, comply with all applicable requirements (customer, international standards, legal, regulatory, organizational, etc.) which will ensure a Customer, Operational and Functional Excellence. Also, implement and maintain the HSE performance improvement aspects and tools across assigned Business Units.
Key Accountabilities:
• Implement and maintain documentation in the HSE Management System across the Business Units assigned in compliance with OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 standards and Group requirements.
• Generate monthly HSE reports and performance reviews to Management with recommendations for improvement and execute any necessary improvement projects.
• Conduct periodic OH&S;risk assessments and Environmental Impact Analysis and recommend action for implementation.
• Participate in internal audits and inspections including the planning, preparation, executive, reporting results and follow ups.
• Day-to-day coordination with respective Line Managers and Operations Team for effective management of HSE policy and procedures.
• Conduct cross company internal HSSE audits for the Middle East business.
• Provide responses based on root cause analysis for internal and external (local authorities, customers and certification agencies and other interested parties) HSE issues and corrective action requests.
• Supervise daily HSE in the facility and premises, contractor safety and lead regular HSE meetings.
• Support implementation of Company standards and procedures including new initiatives.
• Participate in site HSE campaigns to promote HSE excellence.
• Support any incident investigations, NCR investigation and subsequent corrective / preventive action identification and follow up for implementation. Timely reporting and investigation of any HSE incidents as per the Group requirements.
• Monitor, inspect, communicate and verify the status of HSE related activities, non-conformance reports and corrective actions and provide feedback to managers.
• Manage the HSE training programs and monitor employees’ training.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 15 + years HSSE working experience in well-established contracting companies in GCC with progressively increasing responsibility.

***MUST BE WESTERN EDUCATED AND POSSESS CHARTERSHIP***
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
• NEBOSH certificate holder.
• Qualified Internal Auditor for OSH&E;standards.
• Knowledge of current OHS&E;standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSSE standards.
• Hands-on experience of implementing OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
• Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSSE tools.
• Hands-on knowledge of OHS&E;Management Systems.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact with all levels of the business.
• Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.
• A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
• Ability to carry out risk assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
• Ability to operate within a manual/workshop environment.
• Sound judgment and effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
