The Manager - Internet of Things (IoT) will take the vision and ambitions of the Expo Team and, working with the IoT Team and partners, develop technical plans and documents. These plans and documents will then be used to execute the technology within the Expo Site. The Manager - IoT needs to be both visionary and deeply technical in nature, developing ideas quickly but ensuring deep technical documentation to ensure efficient delivery.
The main responsibilities included in the role will be:
- Responsible for IoT infrastructure and sensor strategy, IoT Infrastructure Design and IoT Design Guides;
- Be supportive of a tight budget and demonstrate a rigorous design-to-cost approach that nevertheless supports effective and efficient operations;
- Include legacy objectives in plans as appropriate and in line with the Expo 2020 wider legacy goals;
- Engage progressively with all areas of the Expo 2020 Organizing Committee to develop, agree and implement an increasingly detailed view of the technology products and services to be deployed in order to test and operate all the sites and venues on time, within budget, and for the best experience of the various clients;
- Engage with all areas of technology and maintain a clear vision, to be supported by standards and procedures, of Expo time venue-based operations with an objective to simplify and streamline while ensuring readiness and self-sustainability;
- Work with the Commercial team to ensure the objectives of the plan are met by maximizing opportunities to either use existing partnerships or generating relevant new partnerships;
- Develop and agree balanced service levels with all stakeholders and ensure commitments are achieved;
- Work closely with the technology Programme office to update the master technology plan and proactively assess and manage related risks.
المهارات
6+ years’ experience in a similar role as well as:
- A degree in computing or related field;
- High Technical knowledge of existing and emerging IoT practices;
- Has implemented these technologies in similar environments to Expo 2020;
- Has worked on ‘mega’ programmes and events;
- A certified engineer in technologies such as Cisco, Honeywell, Siemens, GE ext.
