Our client is seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible to oversee the Group Finance (UK and Dubai) function and ensure that all activities run smoothly, delivering a world class service to the company whilst ensuring compliance with local/UK accounting standards and taxation requirements. You will also manage the Group Finance function ensuring that team are motivated to succeed and developed to excel. This role would suit someone who is currently a Finance Manager/Finance Analyst and who would easily be able to step into this role. Our client will not be interviewing any candidates who have more than one month’s notice period. This role would suit someone who is willing and able to complete all required tasks as this is a stand-alone role (no team to manage).
Description:
• Ensuring all accounting records are kept up to date for the company to ensure a true and fair reflection of performance
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
• Ensure all transactional items are processed in a timely manner to ensure a true and fair reflection of performance
• Manage the company’s banking relationships ensuring the group is procuring the best service and the best possible price
• Producing routine monthly management accounts by 3rd working day of proceeding month
• Producing ad hoc reporting for group as required
• Production of statutory accounts for all of the company’s legal entities (UK and Dubai) including consolidated accounts and submission to the relevant authorities before the deadline
• Production and submission of corporation tax returns for all of the company’s legal entities (UK and Dubai)
• Production and submission of quarterly sales tax returns for all of the company’s legal entities (UK and Dubai)
• Managing group payroll ensuring accurate and timely payments to all direct staff and submission of monthly payroll information to the respective authorities
• Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast and ownership of same
• Managing cash collection and debtors to agreed targets
• Processing payments to suppliers as per the company policy
• Developing and enforcing key financial controls within the company
• Continuously developing existing financial system and constantly looking for software solutions to deliver a better service to the business
• Producing the annual budgets in line with the company deadlines
• Producing the rolling forecasts in line with the company deadline
• Central point of contact for annual group audit
• Provide meaningful insight to GM and CEO to shape business decision making
• Support business projects in a finance capacity i.e. review of commercial contracts and project profitability
• Develop and own group policy statements
• Develop and own group process guidelines
• Managing renewal of all group insurances and trade licenses
• Present monthly results to internal stakeholders
• Payments to suppliers

Criteria:
• Must have one of the following qualifications along with 5+ years relevant experience: ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CPA
• This role would suit someone who has experience in fulfilling all of the duties outlined above as there is no team to assist
• Tenacious with a passion for bringing finance to the forefront of business decision making
• Experienced in managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing conflicting deadlines
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills, experienced at dealing with board level, banks and audit team
• Proven ability to lead business improvement projects
• Must currently reside in the UAE
