performs a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Assignment may be to a structured rotational program which would include experience in several disciplines in Engineering. The assignment involves CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications therefore aptitude to quickly learn and become proficient in the latest design software is essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field and starts applying applicable design codes and standards as well as company procedures and policies under the guidance of more senior engineer.
Works closely with engineers in other disciplines to ensure designs are coordinated.
Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.
Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for services, and subcontracts.
Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals
Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
المهارات
4-year degree in Engineering (or related field).
Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is also required.
Relationship
Reports to Senior Engineer and Highways Design Manager
Co-ordinate with other Engineers from within discipline and other disciplines.
