DESIGNER
Corporate Job Summary:
Exhibits basic introductory competence in a range of areas. Performs fundamental assignments and shows an interest and dedication in acquiring new skills and greater understanding of job expectations. Uses established practices and procedures to complete routine assignments with detailed instructions under direct supervision. Applies fundamental concepts to a particular field of specialization. A student of the firm’s culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Competencies
Primary role is to support the project team using a wide range of developing professional skills. Applies and develops basic skills appropriate to area of specialization. Duties and tasks are basic and repetitive. Refers all issues to higher levels for guidance. Develops a growing understanding of the requirements to complete the project through all required phases.
Work is focused on portions of a project’s broader scope. Contributes to the documentation and development of design and technical tasks.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, electronic and manual drafting, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations, report writing, constructing models, performing calculations, basic analysis, mapping, rendering, and assembling image boards. May assist in the preparation of sections and details, producing design and construction documents. Revises and updates drawings as requested by others.
Frequently works on multiple projects. Charged with increasing own skill in providing project input and suggesting optional concepts and techniques while exploring new ways to perform project tasks. Effectively utilizes resources to address project requirements.
Experiences some client interaction with opportunity to participate and gain knowledge in project development process from concept through construction.
Presents ideas clearly and persuasively.

Education
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related design field or equivalent certification. If job focus is drafting only, high school diploma with drafting training, other appropriate basic level drafting experience, or CADD training is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
Must demonstrate strong design ability
Maintains effective communication with project team members
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
Experience with Sketchup, Rhinoceros and Grasshopper
Read, write and speak Chinese
