About the team: An exciting and challenging new opportunity has arisen for a talented, experienced and forward-thinking lawyer to join our growing legal team. We are looking for a highly skilled commercial lawyer with 3+ years PQE to play a vital part in our METAP legal team (Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Pakistan). This role will be based in Dubai. Our ideal candidate brings private practice and in-house experience of supporting sales, marketing and commercial functions. It is a broad role serving a variety of stakeholders and provides an excellent opportunity to get close to TikTok’s business operations in the METAP region. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a company that is enjoying hyper-growth on a truly international scale. • You will serve as a legal advisor and business partner to the sales, advertising and marketing functions across the METAP region. • As part of a team supporting regional sales, advertising and marketing you will lead negotiations with strategic media buying clients and will draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including: • Media sales contracts with media buying agencies and brands that use the TikTok platform to increase brand awareness and accelerate their performance campaign advertising. • Media trading and partnership contracts (both with agencies and brands), brand collaborations that extend a brand campaign to encompass events, sponsorships and creator engagement opportunities. • Creative agency agreements and statements of work agreements governing creative assets provided by our in-house team, talent agreements and image releases, media buying contracts, and NDAs. • You will have an understanding of advertisement standards and compliance requirements across the METAP region and advise on new laws relating to advertising, marketing, and user-generated content across the region. • You will coordinate the legal response to advertiser and agency questionnaires. • You will have significant responsibility for knowledge management, template. development (including playbooks), process improvement and training (both within legal and the wider sales and marketing functions). • You will make recommendations for legal and commercial processes and initiatives that assist the business to scale.
You will be qualified with 3+ years of PQE. The ideal candidate will have: • Excellent English & Turkish communication (written/spoken) • Qualified into the commercial division of a leading private practice law firm • Advised (in house and in private practice) on sales and advertising issues • Significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts • Worked collaboratively to develop new documentation, workflows and best practices (experience of implementing legal processes which assist a business to scale is a plus) • An understanding of user generated content platforms and familiarity with the issues in this space • Acquired in-depth knowledge of advertising and promotional marketing law and industry standards, especially in relation to brand safety requirements • Strong commercial acumen and be comfortable taking commercial decisions and working closely with senior sales leads at a regional level • The ability to navigate the complexities of multiple internal and external stakeholders including our senior leadership team, with strong written and verbal communication skills • A proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work well in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines within short time constraints whilst maintaining the utmost attention to detail. • Relevant regional experience.
