الوصف الوظيفي Position Summary New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant Director, Student Well-Being reporting to the Director of Student Success and Well-Being. The Assistant Director of Student Well-Being will build a program that enables students and staff to improve their knowledge of the multiple dimensions of holistic well-being. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Success & Well-Being, The Assistant Director will identify divisional opportunities for holistic mental, social, and emotional well-being engagement and identify any gaps in holistic well-being support, and work to procure opportunities to fill those gaps. This role will center on building capacity for both students and student affairs staff to equip constituents with a tool-kit for managing low-level mental health issues and crafting an individualized path for their personal growth and development. This position will partner with different constituencies to better articulate a divisional strategy for holistic well-being and organize events and initiatives that enhance student wellbeing by both directing to existing opportunities and complementing these opportunities by procuring or building new global initiatives. The Assistant Director will actively collaborate with colleagues in other departments such as Student Success and Well-Being, the Student Health Center, Residential Education, Class Year Experience, Athletics, Spiritual Life and Intercultural Education, and Community Outreach to create programs and training that complement the work being done in these areas, and embedding well-being strategy into existing initiatives in the division. The Assistant Director will also teach 4-5 health and physical education courses per academic year, and work with student leaders on one on one coaching and mentorship. Under the supervision of the Director, The Assistant Director will build a co-curricular program that will introduce students and Student Affairs staff to foundational skills in emotional regulation and resilient self-management, using diverse therapeutic modalities and approaches, aimed at fostering a culture of reflection, compassionate self-awareness, and interdependence within the student community. The Assistant Director will also develop a training and development program for student leaders who will design a wellbeing plan using a system of interventions for the student community. The Assistant Director will partner with other areas of the university to support the operations, planning, and coordination of Student Success and Well-Being programs, including collaboration with finance, operations, and risk management. This role will determine the necessary reporting and assessment tools that track progress for students individually and more broadly within the community. The Assistant Director is an active contributor to divisional functional teams and institutional events including admissions events, new student orientation, student leadership training, and more. This role requires regular evening and weekend activities throughout the academic year. The Division of Student Affairs plays a crucial role in shaping the out-of-classroom experience for a highly diverse (the vast majority of students from outside the region) residential population of 2000+ undergraduate students. Key Responsibilities: Strategy: Support the development of a divisional strategy to embed holistic student wellbeing into across student experience through various cross-departmental platforms, under the supervision of the Director and in collaboration with other departments. Create platforms of external skillbuilding workshops and certification programs for staff and students from a range of diverse therapeutic modalities and approaches.
