الوصف الوظيفي The Research Technician will be responsible for preparing fly food and maintaining space, completing fly disposal with MEOW approved protocol; monitoring laboratory supplies and purchases when necessary; maintaining freezers and fridges in the laboratory and handling all forms of logistics for the laboratory. This position will serve to take care of maintaining confocals on a routine basis and to set up genetic crosses for Drosophila, and to use the confocal microscope to identify neuronal cell types of the optic lobe and determine their characteristics. The candidate will assist laboratory members on laser based flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting to separate individual neuronal subtypes and analyze their transcriptional profile. Applicants must have a university degree with a science background, with experience in a biology research setting. Applicants should have excellent organizational and communication skills in English, show willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team within a multi-disciplinary environment. Knowledge in Biology and/or Drosophila research will be considered as an asset.
